No I am not talking about painting the walls with green paint. You need some indoor plants that will make your bathroom look lively and add some freshness in the area.

Why Indoor Plants?

Decorating your bathroom with small green plants can be a fun activity. Indoor plants will add a dash of colour in your modern bathroom and help you to create an eco-friendly and natural ambience. These small plants are ideal for your bathroom as they are stunning, affordable and perfect for enhancing your decor. These inexpensive bathroom accessories create a calming and comfortable atmosphere so that you can use your bathroom as a relaxation area.

However it is important that you select the right indoor plants for decorating your bathroom and put them at the right places to have a fresh look. Usually plants that are used in interior decorating tend to be tropical plants as these can grow even with very little light and in moist environments.

Here I have listed some of the indoor plants that you can use for decorating your bathroom-

Spider plants

Spider plants or Chlorophytum Comosum top my list for indoor plants for bathroom as these usually require very little maintenance. These plants are just perfect to jazz up the area. Spider plants can grow in a number of conditions and environment. You can easily use them as pot plant and a place them in one corner of the bathroom. You may also use these as hanging plants by putting them in the window.

Spider plants need little care and all you need to do is water them (room temperature) on a daily basis. You may also choose to trim any dead leaves or leaf tips.

Peace Lily

Peace lilies are easy to care for houseplants that will not only brighten up your bathroom but also bring a sophisticated look to the area. These plants are great natural air purifiers which remove VOC benzene and carcinogen that are present in furniture wax, paint and polish.

Peace lily plants grow well in low light conditions and do not need too much water. However you must ensure that the soil remains somewhat moist and the plant is misted during drier periods.

Aspidistra

Aspidistra plants are one of the simplest and easiest plants that you can choose to decorate your bathroom. With these you will not have to face much hassle. These are lush and green leafy plants which adapt to various lighting environments. However it is best to keep your Aspidistras in a shady corner of the bathroom.

Orchids

Orchids are simply great for your bathroom. As the beautiful blooms of orchids are ideally suited for low-light areas, your bathroom will provide suitable conditions for the plant to thrive. Put the plant in a small pot and simply place it on the bathroom sink to add a splash of colour.

During summer, you need to water your orchids regularly throughout the weeks. However, during winter you can water it just once a month and spray it frequently to keep the plant hydrated.

Apart from the ones I mentioned above, you can find many other plants for this purpose including-
